DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 01: ARRIVE COLOMBO
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
Sri Lanka known for its world-famous tea plantations to national parks made for safaris, has plenty to tempt you away from the amazing beaches.

DAY 02: PROCEED AND TOUR SIGIRIYA VIA PINNAWELA (B, L, D)
After breakfast proceed to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage was established in 1975 as a sanctuary for orphaned and injured elephants, and it has since become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka.
Thereafter proceed to visit the Dambulla Rock Temple. The Dambulla Rock Temple is one of the most famous and best-preserved cave temple complexes in Sri Lanka. It dates back to the 1st century BC and is renowned for its religious and historical significance. The temple complex is built on a massive rock that rises about 160 meters above the surrounding plains, providing a commanding view of the area. An icon in the face of Sri Lanka, this temple houses some of the most unique drawings. Observe how exquisitely cave paintings are done along walls that shelter 150 statues of Lord Buddha.

Leave for Sigiriya Rock, A World Heritage Site (Optional USD35/person). This rock boasts ancient Sri Lankan engineering & urban planning supremacy which is also known as one of the finest monuments for art & culture. Step through the gigantic 'Lion Paws' overlooking the royal gardens below and visit the museum to have a better understanding of why this engineering remained a wonder in Asia for centuries.
note: The ascent to the summit of Sigiriya Rock involves climbing a series of steep stairs and pathways. While the exact number of steps can vary, it is generally around 1,200 steps. The climb can be strenuous, especially for those with mobility issues or physical limitations. It is important to assess your fitness level and ability to undertake such a climb before visiting.

DAY 03: TRAVEL TO JAFFNA [250KM | EST 4.5HRS] (B, L, D)
After breakfast at hotel proceed to the Jaffna, which is a world away from the rest of Sri Lanka. Closer to southern India than to Colombo, the region was settled early on by Tamil migrants from southern India and has retained a unique character and culture.
Enroute visit The Ancient Anuradhapura City, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved ruins and religious sites. You can explore the ancient stupas, dagobas, and the sacred Bodhi tree, which is one of the oldest documented trees in the world.

Upon arrival proceed on a Discovery Tour of Jaffna. This is one of the Oldest Habitation Site in Lower South Asia, populated by Tamil speaking people. It is in close proximity to the sub-continent of India and separated from it by the Palk Strait and the Bay of Bengal. The peninsula is actually almost an island; only the narrow causeway known as Elephant Pass - for once elephants did wade across the shallow lagoon here connects Jaffna with the rest of Sri Lanka.
Visit the Jaffna Fort, situated on the south side of the Jaffna peninsula at the water’s edge of the lagoon, the ancient fort in Jaffna is the second largest existing fort in the Island. Originally built by the Portuguese in 1619 and re-built and expanded by the Dutch during the second half of the 17th and the 18th centuries to facilitate trading activities of Sri Lanka’s northern region. This indicates not only of Jaffna’s strategic importance to the Europeans but its significance throughout Sri Lanka’s history. Explore the ramparts, walls, and buildings within the fort complex, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.

DAY 04: TOUR JAFFNA AND TAKE A BOAT TO NAINATIVU (B, L, D)
After breakfast Travel by Boat to Nainativu Island. The island is located off the coast of Jaffna. Despite its size, Nainativu holds great religious and historical significance.
Upon arrival visit the Nagapooshani Amman Temple. The Nagapooshani Amman Temple is the main attraction on Nainativu. It is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to the Goddess Parvati, who is believed to be an embodiment of divine feminine power and the consort of Lord Shiva. The temple attracts devotees from across the country. The temple's architecture and religious rituals offer an immersive cultural experience. Devotees visit the temple to seek the blessings of the goddess and offer prayers for various aspects of their lives, including health, prosperity, and family well-being.
Lunch at a Restaurant. Experience the Local Cuisine here. Nainativu offers a chance to savor the local cuisine of the Jaffna region. Try traditional Tamil dishes such as dosa, idli, vadai, and various flavorful curries. Don't miss the opportunity to sample Jaffna's unique and delicious seafood specialties.
Nainativu has picturesque beaches where you can relax and soak up the sun. The calm waters and sandy shores provide an ideal setting for a peaceful beach experience. You can unwind, take a swim, or simply enjoy the coastal scenery.
Thereafter return to Jaffna. If time permits you can visit the following temples:-
Nallur Kandaswamy Temple: The Nallur Temple is one of the most important and revered temples dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is believed to have been built in the 15th century and holds great religious significance for the Tamil Hindu community in Sri Lanka. Devotees visit the temple to seek blessings from Lord Murugan and offer prayers for various purposes, including success, prosperity, and protection.
Keerimalai Naguleswaram Temple: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is considered one of the Pancha Ishwarams, the five historical abodes of Lord Shiva in Sri Lanka. The temple is renowned for its natural spring, known as the Keerimalai Springs or Muthirai Kulam. The water from this spring is believed to have healing properties and is considered sacred by devotees. Many people come to the temple to take a holy bath in the spring, seeking physical and spiritual purification.

DAY 05: PROCEED AND TOUR TRINCOMALEE + NATURAL HOT SPRING VISIT [250KM | EST 4.5HRS] (B, L, D)
After breakfast at hotel proceed to Trincomalee, sitting on one the World’s Finest Natural Harbor’s. It is known for its beautiful beaches, historical sites, and natural attractions.
Trincomalee is home to some stunning beaches. The most popular ones include Nilaveli Beach and Uppuveli Beach. These pristine stretches of white sand offer crystal-clear waters and are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports like snorkeling and diving.
Visit The Temple of a Thousand Pillars, The Koneswaram Temple. This is a historic Hindu temple situated on Swami Rock overlooking the Indian Ocean. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered one of the most sacred sites in Sri Lanka. The temple offers panoramic views of the city and the coastline.

Thereafter visit the The Kanniyai Natural Hot Springs also known as Kanniyai Tirtham or Kanniyai Sulphur Springs, which are natural thermal springs. They are renowned for their naturally occurring sulphur-infused water. The water in the springs is believed to have therapeutic properties and is said to offer various health benefits. The sulphur content in the water is known for its potential to alleviate skin conditions and provide relief from joint and muscle pain. The hot springs are popular among both locals and tourists seeking relaxation and therapeutic benefits. DAY 06: PROCEED AND TOUR KANDY [180KM | EST 4HRS] (B, L, D)
After breakfast proceed to Kandy, The Last Royal Capital of The Sri Lankan Kings.
En route visit Spice Garden in Mawanella. Mawanella is renowned for a handsome contribution towards the spice industry. Stop by a spice grow for a quick glance at the process bundled with growing & processing of spices while inhaling the fresh scent entrapped within the shady grows that cater towards the bloodline of the national growth.
Thereafter proceed on A Discovery Tour of Kandy.
Kandy A World Heritage Site, was last ruled by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe and was brought under the British rule in 1815. Kandy crafts an array of culture, history and heritage in the minds of visitors across the globe.
Experience an ancient Kandyan legacy engraved around its crown jewel, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
Take a stroll across this small Lakeside Town which is cradled among the misty hills. Proceed on to The Kandy City Centre which is bundled with bazaars, an arts & crafts centre, as well as a gem museum & lapidary. Walk in color as you glide through fresh fruits and vegetables in the Kandy market.
In the evening witness the famous Sri Lankan Cultural Show. The stepping to the beat of traditional music & drumming amplified by a cultural show enhancing the rich and vibrant culture of the Wonder of Asia, Sri Lanka.

DAY 07: PROCEED AND TOUR NUWARA ELIYA (B, L, D)
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya, The Little England of Sri Lanka, which is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations.
It is supposed to be one of the coolest place in Sri Lanka, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night.
All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like Country Cottages or Queen Ann style Mansions. The Victoria Park, in the middle of the town, is a lovely place for a stroll or a picnic and is also good for Birding as you get some rare birds in this Park.
Enjoy the Ceylon Tea Experience which involves a visit to A plantation to observe firsthand the process. Starting from the plucking field where it all begins with the picking of "two leaves and a bud" to the factory where the processing begins. Originally introduced to the island around 1850 by the British, Ceylon Tea is world famous for its high quality and has remained a major contributor to the island's economy for generations. Currently, Sri Lanka is one of largest exporter of tea worldwide.
After Lunch at Restaurant, proceed on a Highlands Tour of Nuwara Eliya. Misty steep roads, twisting through lush green blankets of tea bushes in a cool climate, remind visitors that they are within the range of the renowned British colonial retreat. Augmented by an English countryside atmosphere, this city was once governed by the English & Scottish planters and is still studded with colonial bungalows, hedgerows & one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the world.
A hike through the green grass and red-brick walls should present breathtaking views of a buzzing countryside hamlet.
Drive through green valleys of the hill country pierced by endless waterfalls & dotted by tea pluckers draped in bright-colored saris.
You can also go on a boat ride or just rent a bike for a gentle ride along the banks splashed by the waters of Lake Gregory.
You can also visit the epic Seetha Amman Temple. The Goddess Sita Devi is said to have bathed in this stream and it is believed that Lord Hanuman the monkey God had visited Sita Devi here. Now there is temple for Lord Rama, Sita Devi, Luxshmana, and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hanuman's are found by this river.

Kandy to Nanuoya Scenic Train: Taking the train is a popular and highly recommended way to travel from Kandy to Nanuoya. The train journey is renowned for its scenic beauty. As the train chugs along, you'll pass by tea estates, rolling hills, waterfalls, and verdant valleys. Keep your camera ready to capture the breathtaking landscapes. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours, depending on the train and class you choose. Nanuoya is the closest railway station to Nuwara Eliya, and it is recommended to book tickets in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons. [cost: RM80 per person and tickets are subject to availability]
DAY 08: TRAVEL DOWN SOUTH TO KATARAGAMA VIA ELLA [140KM | EST 3.5HRS] (B, L, D)
After breakfast proceed to The Charming Town of Ella. Located in the central highlands, Ella is known for its stunning views and outdoor activities. It is famous for attractions such as Ella Rock, Little Adam's Peak, Nine Arch Bridge, and Ravana Falls. Ella is also a popular base for hiking, with trails leading to scenic viewpoints and tea plantations.
Visit the popular tourist attraction The Nine Arch Bridge. It is renowned for its impressive architectural design and construction. It was built during the British colonial period in the early 20th century without the use of any steel or cement. The bridge stands at a height of approximately 24 meters and spans a distance of about 91 meters. As the name suggests, the bridge is composed of nine stone arches, giving it a unique and picturesque appearance. The arches create a stunning view as they blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings. The location of the Nine Arch Bridge offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, tea plantations, and valleys. Visitors can capture stunning photographs of the bridge against the backdrop of lush green landscapes.
One of the highlights of visiting the Nine Arch Bridge is Witnessing a Train Crossing. The bridge is part of the scenic train route from Kandy to Ella, and several trains pass over the bridge throughout the day. The sight of a train chugging across the bridge is a popular photo opportunity for visitors.
Thereafter visit the Rawana Ella Cave. According to local legends, the Ravana Caves are said to have been used by King Ravana, the mythological ruler of Lanka, as a hideout. It is believed that he hid Princess Sita, whom he had kidnapped, in these caves during their time in captivity. Visiting the Ravana Caves allows you to explore a location intertwined with ancient legends and immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of Sri Lanka.
Visit the Stunning Ravana Falls which is a cascading waterfall that drops from a height of about 25 meters (82 feet). The water flows down in multiple tiers, creating a stunning sight against the backdrop of the surrounding natural landscape. The picturesque setting of Ravana Falls makes it a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts. Visitors can capture the beauty of the waterfall and the surrounding landscapes.

Proceed to the Sacred Pilgrimage Town of Kataragama, located in the southeastern part of Sri Lanka. It holds great religious significance for people of various faiths, including Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims. Kataragama is primarily known for the Kataragama Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Murugan, also known as Skanda or Kataragama Deviyo. Lord Murugan is highly revered by Hindus and considered a powerful deity. The temple complex consists of several shrines, including the main sanctum dedicated to Lord Murugan.

DAY 09: TRAVEL TO THE BEACH REOSRT (B, L, D)
After breakfast depart for Mirissa Beach known for its golden sands and turquoise waters. This area offers a picturesque setting for sunbathing, swimming, and leisurely walks along the shore. It's an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the coastal beauty.
Proceed to the Scenic viewpoint of Coconut Tree Hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding beaches, coconut groves, and the ocean. It's a popular spot for photography and watching breathtaking sunsets.
Thereafter you can witness this traditional fishing method and capture some unique photographs of Stilt Fishermens, who perch on stilts planted in the shallow waters to catch fish.
Proceed to a Turtle Hatchery, where you can learn about turtle conservation efforts and observe different species of sea turtles. The hatchery provides a safe environment for turtle eggs to hatch and releases the baby turtles into the sea.

DAY 10: TRAVEL TO THE PORT TOWN OF GALLE AND RETURN TO COLOMBO (B, L, D)
After breakfast relax in your beach resort or enjoy some beach activities offered at the resort.
Thereafter proceed to the Historic Port City Galle, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture, vibrant culture, and beautiful beaches.
The main attraction in Galle is the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later fortified by the Dutch, the fort showcases a blend of European architectural styles. Within the fort, you'll find narrow streets, colonial-era buildings, boutique shops, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants. You can find unique handicrafts, jewelry, textiles, and souvenirs.
See the Iconic Galle Lighthouse situated near the Galle Fort, the Galle Lighthouse is an iconic landmark that has guided ships for centuries. It offers panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and the fort area.

Thereafter proceed to Colombo. The drive from Galle to Colombo is approximately 125 kilometers and takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
Drive through Bentota, a popular beach resort town known for its pristine beaches and water sports activities. The Bentota River also flows alongside the road.
As you near Colombo, you will pass through Kalutara, which is famous for the Kalutara Bodhiya, a sacred Buddhist temple located near the Kalu Ganga (Black River).
Finally, you will arrive in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival visit The Anjaneyar Temple in Dehiwala. One of the main attractions of the temple is the large statue of Lord Hanuman. The statue is beautifully crafted and stands tall within the temple premises. Devotees offer prayers, flowers, and light lamps in front of the statue.

DAY 11: TOUR COLOMBO (B, L, D)
After breakfast proceed on A Discovery Tour of Colombo. Start your tour in the heart of the city, Colombo Fort. Explore the colonial-era buildings, such as the Old Parliament Building, Clock Tower, and General Post Office. Take a stroll along the bustling streets and experience the vibrant atmosphere. Visit Independence Square, a significant landmark that commemorates Sri Lanka's independence from British rule. The square features a memorial hall, statue of the first prime minister, and well-manicured gardens, making it a peaceful retreat within the city.
Visit the Impressive St. Mary's Church. St. Mary's Church features impressive architectural elements. It exhibits a blend of Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles, with tall spires, stained glass windows, and intricate detailing.
