S?n Trà Mountain, also known as Monkey Mountain, is a mountain and peninsula range located on S?n Trà Peninsula, in S?n Trà district, ?à N?ng, Vietnam, overlooking the Bay of Da Nang and the East Sea. ?à N?ng Port's Tiên Sa Terminal is located at the base of the mountain's western face, as is nearby Tiên Sa Beach. This area was called "Monkey Mountains," because early settlers deemed the river bluffs too steep for even monkeys to climb. The Lewis and Clark Expedition opened up this portion of the state for settlement, when it passed along the southern portion of the area on July 8, 1804.
