Lion Rock, Sigiriya

Lion Rock, also known as Sigiriya, is an ancient rock fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka. Rising dramatically 200 meters above the surrounding landscape, it is renowned for its historical and archaeological significance. The site features impressive ruins, including a palace complex, water gardens, and frescoes, and it is famous for the large lion's paw carved into the rock near the entrance.
