➤ The old quarter in Hanoi is over a 1000 years old and retains much of the old flavor. Each street was the exclusive domain of one trade, so there are whole streets of blacksmiths, silver shops, paper shops, headstone makers and etc.


➤ Explore Hàng Mã Street, famous for selling toys, paper goods, and in particular paper votive offerings. The street has been selling paper goods for more than 500 years. The street carries some of the wares of religious goods stores


➤ Visit Phung Hung street which has been revived with beautiful mural paintings recalling Hanoi in the past. Opened to the public in early February 2018, it is now a favorite photo place and cultural space for city dwellers and travelers to Hanoi.


➤ Next visit the St. Joseph's Cathedral. This Cathedral was one of the first structures built by the French colonial government in Indochina when it opened in December 1886. It is the oldest church in Hanoi.


➤ Thereafter explore the Grand Opera House. It is believed that this place was Vietnam's very first exposure to Western art, specifically music and staging. It was a cultural center for the French and Vietnamese Elite.
