DAY 01: ARRIVE AND EX[LORE THE KATHMANDU VALLEY

➤ After breakfast proceed to Pasupatinath Temple. This temple is one of the most important pilgrim site for Hindus worldwide. According to the Hindu religion, Pashupatinath is considered as the protector of the universe and the patron deity of Nepali people.
➤ Visit the Swayambhu Mahachaitya an ancient religious complex on top of a hill in the Kathmandu Valley. The Tibetan name for the site means 'Sublime Trees', for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and has numerous shrines and monasteries on its premises.
➤ Next visit Bouddhanath Stupa which is semicircle shaped and contains the relics and remains of Buddha. The Stupa's massive mandala makes it One of the Largest Spherical Stupas in the World. ➤ Next visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, site of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, which was the Royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century and where important ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarch took place. ➤ Thereafter drive to Nagarkot located 35km from Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,175m. Nagarkot is known as the Himalayan Village on Top of The World. This place used to be the nature retreat of the royals with its unobstructed mountain panorama, which extends from Annapurna in the west to Everest in the east.

Swyambhunath Stupa
It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the north-west parts of the temple.The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, there is something painted which looks like the nose - but is the Nepali symbol of "unity", in the main Nepali language dialect!
Nagarkot
Nagarkot is a village in central Nepal, at the rim of the Kathmandu Valley.
