DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 01: ARRIVAL YOGYAKARTA > OBELIX SEA VIEW > PARANGTRITIS BEACH (L, D)
WELCOME TO JOGJA.
You will meet and be greeted by our guide at Yogyakarta International Airport and directly have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
Yogjakarta is the only Indonesian royal city still ruled by a monarchy, it is regarded as an important center for classical Javanese fine arts and culture such as ballet, batik textiles, drama, literature, music, poetry, silversmithing, visual arts, and wayang puppetry.
After lunch, travel towards the southern coastal hills to visit Obelix Sea View, a scenic hilltop attraction overlooking the vast Indian Ocean. The area offers panoramic views and photo spots, and for those interested, swings overlooking the ocean are available at personal expense.
Continue to the iconic Parangtritis Beach, one of the most famous beaches in Yogyakarta known for its dramatic coastline and powerful waves. If weather permits, enjoy the sunset while strolling along the beach. Optional activities such as horse riding or a traditional horse-drawn carriage (Bendi) are available at your own expense.
In the evening, return to Yogyakarta city for dinner at a local restaurant before check-in to your hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 02: SOLO HERITAGE TOUR > MANGKUNEGARAN > SANGIRAN > THE HERITAGE PALACE (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Surakarta, also known as Solo, located approximately two hours from Yogyakarta.
Begin with a visit to Mangkunegaran Palace, a historic royal residence showcasing traditional Javanese architecture, cultural artifacts, and royal heritage.
Continue to Triwindu Market, a well-known market specializing in antiques, vintage collectibles, and traditional items.
After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Sangiran Early Man Site, an important archaeological site recognized by UNESCO for its discoveries of early human fossils and prehistoric artifacts.
Before returning to Yogyakarta, stop at The Heritage Palace, a unique museum housed in a restored colonial-era sugar factory featuring vintage cars, interactive exhibits, and themed galleries.
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 03: MERAPI JEEP LAVA TOUR > BOROBUDUR > MALIOBORO (B, L, D)
After breakfast, proceed to the slopes of Mount Merapi for an exciting Merapi Jeep Lava Tour. Travel by 4WD jeep through volcanic landscapes while visiting several key sites including Kaliadem bunker, Batu Alien rock formation, and the Mini Museum, which preserves remains from the 2010 Merapi eruption.
After the tour, continue to Visit the magnificent Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world, built in the 9th century during the Sailendra dynasty. Explore the temple complex and admire the detailed relief panels and stupas that make this UNESCO World Heritage Site one of Indonesia’s greatest monuments. Climb up to the upper terraces of the temple included in the package.
After returning to Yogyakarta, stop by Kotagede, the capital of the Old Kingdom as well as the silver center in Yogyakarta. One of the things that makes Kota Gede so special is the way it holds on to its heritage. While Yogyakarta is modernizing at a rapid rate, Kota Gede remains a bastion of traditional Javanese culture, where the slower pace of life and the respect for history is evident in every corner.
Continue to Malioboro Street, the city’s most famous shopping area, where you can browse local handicrafts, batik, and souvenirs.
Dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.
DAY 04: FREE TO EXPLORE JOGJA > DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy free time at leisure until your scheduled transfer to Yogyakarta International Airport for your onward flight.
For departure on evening flights, optional half-day city visit can be arranged with a surcharge.
