The blissfully calm and laid-back capital of the North, Chiang Mai never fails to charm visitors with its mountainous landscape and lush farmlands. It is famous for its beautiful ancient temples, thought there is much more to see and do.

From the airport you will be having a city orientation before heading up to the hotel of your choice. First is the Chiang Mai City Walls. The old town of Chiang Mai was protected by a long thick brick built city wall. Amazingly there are a number of sections of the wall still standing along with the old Chiang Mai city gates. The city layout was based on ancient military and astrological beliefs. King Mengrai wanted to protect his new city so, he ordered the construction of a perimeter wall and moat; laid in a rectangular shape.

From thereon, have the knowledge about the The Three Kings Monument Square in Chiang Mai, it is a large open square in the heart of the walled Old Town. The statue portrays the Three Founders of Chiang Mai, King Mengrai, King Ramkhamhaeng and King Ngam Muang. The sculpture of three kings is a symbol of Chang Mai.

Next is the Tha Pae Gate, its one of the Most Famous Landmarks in Chiang Mai and is part of the crumbling city wall which once acted as a fortress for the ‘Old City’ (and still today acts as a geographical boundary). It marks the east entrance to the old walled city of Chiang Mai. It’s a busy meeting place for locals, tourists and pigeons!

Thereafter, had a visit to Wat Chedi Luang Temple "Temple of Great Stupa". One of the Most Beautiful Temples in the old city. Highlights are its massive stupa and the viharn that houses a large standing golden Buddha.
