After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya (Approx. 180 km / 5 hrs). |

En route, visit the magnificent Dambulla Rock Temple, one of Sri Lanka’s best preserved cave temples. Rising 160 meters above the surrounding plains, this sacred site offers sweeping panoramic views. Inside the caves, marvel at the exquisite murals depicting scenes from the life of the Buddha and discover more than 150 Buddha statues, each carefully preserved for centuries. (Entrance fee approx. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the world-renowned Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks. Along the way, admire the ancient frescoes, water gardens, and unique architecture that showcase the brilliance of King Kashyapa’s 5th-century engineering. Known as the Little England of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya is surrounded by mountains, valleys, waterfalls, and tea plantations. The climate is cool, like an English spring, and nights get chilly. The town still shows its British influence with cottages and colonial mansions. Victoria Park, in the center, is ideal for a stroll, picnic, or birdwatching. |
